Unit 1: Early Humans and The Rise of Civilization
In this unit we're learning about the development of human civilization from the first humans that walked the earth to the first empires in ancient Mesopotamia. We'll learn about types of history detectives, homonin groups, the development of agriculture, the geography of Mesopotamia, and the first great civilizations that flourished there.
Each lesson in this unit comes with an interactive student notebook; a collection of worksheets that guides students in taking notes for each individual section of the lesson. The notebook comes with activities that provide a variety of ways for students to record and process information including drawing, graphing, and short and long form questions.
