Questions to consider: What were the major cultural imports to Japan? Where did they come from and how did the Japanese adapt them? Who are the people who were responsible for making Japan so open to influences from other countries?
Lesson 20- Review the Heian period and the social customs and values of the Japanese royal classes.
Questions to consider: What is the city of Heian-Kyo and why was it developed? Why was the Heian period considered a golden age? Who were the important artists and people of the Heian period?
Lesson 21- Review Samurai techniques and training and their position in Japanese society.
Questions to consider: In what ways were the Samurai like medieval knights? Who else was involved in the Samurai hierarchy?
